20 Ways To Wear Marsala On Your Face

As it does every year, Pantone proclaimed Marsala the Color of 2015, “a naturally robust and earthy wine red, enriching our minds, bodies and souls”. That's a big ask for a shade which essentially takes its name from a type of wine most often used to douse chicken in, but hey; who are we to let an opportunity to try new makeup pass us by?

This particular hue is reminiscent of Jennifer Aniston circa Friends, sporting the Rachel and a swipe of the brick red/brown on her lips, and while we're not entirely sure if Marsala's going to be a crowd favourite as far as makeup goes, there are definitely ways to work the shade into your arsenal, particular since it translates just as well into a shimmery eyeshadow as it does a glossy lacquer.

Besides, Valentine’s Day is rolling around soon and Marsala is perfectly placed as an edgy, fashion forward, non-cheesy alternative to plain old red.
