Trends From Paris Fashion Week You Can Actually Wear

Meghana Rabindranath

Love them or hate them, these trends are here to stay

PFW in all it's glory just set the tone for our wardrobes after the spectacular shows put on by major designers from Alexander McQueen to Brandon Maxwell. Looking to the runways, we've zeroed in on the trends we'll be seeing everywhere this season. Sure, we love new trends, but how many of them can you actually wear without looking extra AF? Sorry, this one is clearly coming from fashion minimalist. (Don;t worry we've got some glitter in there too).

Recurring themes from formal workwear to lustrous metallics, designers got us fawning over them all. We've collected a list of major looks — from the color palettes you'll see cropping up all over the racks to the accessories of the season. The perfect guide for your outfit planning this festive season.

Back To Business

Gender fluidity is the trend that's catching on with all the designers this season. Think bold shoulders, soft slouchy or trim and tailored suits where designers reinvented the "working woman's" wardrobe. This trend can easily be adapted to everyday wear. Think a graphic tee, well-fitted trousers and a super "fluid" blazer.

Top it off

Designers are giving us some serious headspace this season from Miu Miu to Loewe. From fuzzy hats, transparent fisher hats to stylish barrettes. If you're into althleisure (yes, that's still a thing) try a cool sporty snapback for that extra edge. Else stick with chic headgear for the ultimate fashionista look.

Nude, Chocolate & Khakhi’s

Don't underestimate the power of satiny neutral palettes. From warm chocolates, khakis and camel-colored separates popping up all over the runways prove you don't have to be brightly dressed to make a bold statement. These are pretty standard and will go with your everyday outfits.

 Disheveled & Deconstructed

Designers are literally tearing it up with their spin on cutouts with slashes and slits that are sharper than the ones we're used to. From cocktail dresses to basic tops and sweaters, everyday wear is going to get sexier. I mean, it's time we played around with our clothing and deconstructed fashion norms.

Thigh High Boots & Glitter Everywhere

Glittery footwear comes in many forms: On one end there's chunky boots, the perfect juxtaposition to the tough cargo pants, heavy outerwear and largely dystopian theme we've been seeing at places like Jeremy Scott and Coach. On the other, there's classic princess pumps, the finishing touch to the feminine, ultra-glam looks we've come to expect from designers like Victoria Beckham.

Silver Fox

It's time to dress like the disco ball of your dreams! Drenched in silver sparkle, designers proved the surest way to get noticed is with a heavy dose of metallics on everything from cocktail dresses to going-out tops. We told you we threw in some glitter here, promise you'll be the brightest one at a party.
