All The Best Outfits From The 70Th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Our picks from the mother of all red carpets

A lot of people call the MET Gala the mother of all red carpets. But let’s face the facts ladies and gentlemen. Celebrities from all over the world attend the Cannes Film Festival every year – and it’s not just a one-day event. The festival spans over ten days, which also means you get to see that many celebrities bringing their most fashionable best to the red carpet.

Like every year, we have our favorites from the festival. This year celebrated 70 years and somehow, all the outfits were 70 (or more) times better than we’ve seen before.

Here’s who topped the list:

Bella Hadid in Ralph & Russo

Hers was possibly the hottest outfit we saw at the festival this year. Bella Hadid was a total smoke-show at the amfAR Gala in her custom made Ralph & Russo number.

Uma Thurman in Armani

Watching the likes of Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman and Tilda Swinton on the red carpet was a total treat. Especially when they were better dressed than the otherwise expected lot. Thurman’s Armani set is really rocking my world right now.

Joan Smalls in Elie Saab

Can anybody say body-chain goals? Joan’s dress was great but my eyes seem to be stuck on that gorgeous Chopard necklace she has on.

Tilda Swinton in Chanel

If there were one person who would pick trousers over a gown at the Cannes, it would be Swinton. Her androgynous style always piques everyone’s interest and his Chanel jumpsuit more than fits the bill.

Nicole Kidman Armani Privé

The Indian in me loves spotting embroidery on an International red carpet. Nicole Kidman’s Armani Privé number could totally be reused with a dupatta and a belt to an Indian function.

Kendall Jenner in Alexandre Vauthier

Shorts? On a major red carpet? Trust Kendall Jenner to pull it off like it’s no big deal. Of course her top totally made up for whatever drama that was lacking with those denims.

Rihanna in Dior Haute Couture

Ok, to be honest, her outfit was no big deal. But with those sunglasses and that attitude, it was hard not to put Rihanna in this list! She’s the perfect example for when you have nothing to wear; just don’t leave that attitude at home, and you’ll be fine.

Sonam Kapoor in Anamika Khanna

Turbans and capes are my true weaknesses and Sonam Kapoor’s custom Anamika Khanna ensemble has provided enough inspiration for many brunches to come.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Michael Cinco

She went for that Cinderella look and she nailed it. In fact, Cinderella probably decided against asking for her dress back because it doesn’t look like anyone but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan could do justice to the majestic number.

Deepika Padukone in Brandon Maxwell

Emerald green clearly looks stunning on a red carpet and even better on Deepika Padukone. It’s been a while since Deepika attended the festival and for her first time back, I think she did a fantastic job.
