It’s time to say buh-bye to the black smoky eye!
Tell me, how much of your life has been spent trying to perfect the dark smoky eye? All this while we lined our waterlines with kajal and nailed the sharpest black winged eyeliner. Somehow, the only eye makeup people wore was either just dark toned or dark and sparkly.
It’s all about to change. A lighter and hotter peachy eye makeup trend has been making the rounds and it looks like it’s going to stay. While I can’t be sure about who did it first, what I can tell you is that everyone from Deepica Mutyala to Deepika Padukone have tried and nailed it. It’s essentially done by creating a smoky eye with shades of peach, pink and red instead of your regular black, brown and blue.
A lot of people might call it the pink eye (sigh); just know that it’s so much more glamorous than that! The style is so popular today, beauty brands like ColourPop and Kylie Cosmetics even entire palettes dedicated to the trend.

But before you buy into any and every new makeup fad, you want to try it on yourself first. I actually mixed two of my blush shades, Estée Lauder’s Wild Sunset for the outer corners of the lid and Urban Decay’s Naked Flushed Streak palette towards the inner corners, to create my own peachy look and I have to say, it actually worked!
And unlike a black smoky eye, just think of how much easier a peach tone is to correct if you mess up while getting the look.
