Why You Need A Cleanser Stick ASAP

Naaila Khan

By now, we’re sold on any pretty much any Asian beauty invention, thanks to their habit of churning out skincare winners on the regular. Their latest offering is bit of a why-didn’t-anyone-think-of-that-before situation; behold cleanser sticks!

Here’s a face wash that will inject a teeny bit of excitement into the boring cleansing routine you usually drag yourself out of bed for (because you forgot – again). This is how to use one: twist it out, apply the solid cleanser onto a damp (not wet) face using circular motions on your cheeks, forehead and chin, massage it into the nooks of your face just to be sure, and then rinse it off. Simple! Except you can tote it around without having liquid soap leaking in your bag, take it through customs and switch out your face wipes for this on a flight to feel thoroughly refreshed.

The only drawback? The regular smearing on face and capping can make the surface a breeding ground for bacteria that could then transfer to your skin. But there’s an easy solution for that – just smear some on the back of your hand after each use.

While this stuff works well solo, the best way to use a cleanser stick is as part deux of a 2-step routine which begins with a round with an oil cleanser to remove all makeup. You can also use a cleanser stick to target specific areas - Boscia's Charcoal Cleansing Stick is great for your T-zone or on areas of breakouts but might be too drying for your entire face, for example.

Believably, these sleek, super easy and very portable face wash upgrades are flying off the racks. There are only a few prominent brands that make the product as of now, but it’s safe to say that you can expect to see the market flooded with these very soon – so read up on the best ones below and go grab one!
